Expectations is everything with these movies. Perhapsthis familiarity is what makes critics hate it. I felt in this movie, the elements of entertainmentwere quite abundant. For the first time in a very long while I considered walkingout of a film, and that was after about 15 minutes. I did like the inclusion of Blackbeard though. Marshall stages a few competently put together action sequences, but you've got to have someone with a unique imagination, like Gore Verbinski, to bring everything together. Most of the actors, seemed to be there more for the paycheck, than to give another good performance. It's a lifeless sequence of stunning visuals and action sequences. The adventures were full of surprises, making them worth at least checking out, and Jack Sparrow was a character that was actually worth waiting for. When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne's Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard McShane , Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn't know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past.
Pirates of the Caribbean stranger tides, or should I say X-Men Wolverine: origins. It kind of just goes through the motions, and although it looks fantastic, is a bit boring in places.
